INTERVIEW TIPS

Our team has put together some guidance to help you make the strongest impression during an interview.
 

BEFORE THE INTERVIEW:

  • Research the companies history, values and any recent projects 

  • review the job description carefully and align your skills with the role 

  • Practise common interview style questions and prepare your own questions 

  • Plan your outfit in advance (professional and appropriate to the company)

  • Check the interview location 

 

DURING THE INTERVIEW:

  • Arrive 10 minuets early before the scheduled time 

  • Know who your meeting and greet with a confident handshake and smile

  • maintain eye contact and show you're actively listening 

  • Answer clearly and structure responses with examples 

  • Ask thoughtful questions and show a genuine interest in the role

  • Keep your phone off or on silent 

AFTER THE INTERVIEW:

  • Speak to your recruiter 

  • Reflect on what went well and how you could improve 

  • Stay patient and positive

DO'S

Research the company – Understand their mission, values, products, and culture.
Dress appropriately – Choose professional attire suitable for the company’s environment.
Arrive on time – Aim to arrive 10–15 minutes early.
Bring necessary documents – Resume, portfolio, references, or certificates if required.
Practice common interview questions – Prepare answers for both behavioural and technical questions.
Show enthusiasm and positivity – Express genuine interest in the role and the company.
Maintain good body language – Make eye contact, offer a firm handshake, sit upright.
Listen carefully – Pay attention to the questions before answering.
Ask thoughtful questions – Prepare a few questions about the role, team, or company.
Follow up – Speak to your recruiter straight after the interview.

DON'TS

❌ Arrive late – Being late creates a negative first impression.
Dress inappropriately – Avoid casual or sloppy attire.
Speak negatively about past employers – It can make you seem unprofessional.
Interrupt the interviewer – Let them finish speaking before responding.
Give vague or unprepared answers – Avoid saying “I don’t know” without context.
Use your phone – Keep it silent and out of sight.
❌ Overtalk or dominate the conversation – Be concise and relevant.
❌ Lie or exaggerate – Honesty is crucial; false claims can be easily checked.
❌ Appear disinterested or unenthusiastic – Show engagement and curiosity.
❌ Ask about money or sick pay - Wait until the employer introduces the topic or during the later stages of the process.
